It is recommended that caffeine consumption of up to 200mg per day in pregnancy is safe.  It is also generally considered that your standard cup of coffee contains about 50mg of caffeine. Research  from Glasgow University reported in the above the article in the Daily Mail demonstrates the wide range of variation of caffeine content in espresso style coffees (eg capuccino, latte, flat white) from a selection of vendors. Whilst coffee from some outlets was around 50mg caffeine per cup there were others that were over 200mg of caffeine per cup.

The message is, be a little cautious with how much espresso style coffee you consume each day during pregnancy.
